Statement of Intent

Review of Part one:

The topics that I have covered in Part 1 are rule of thirds which is about certain hotspots, Unusual viewpoints is about odd angles and how the lighting affects the image, Pattern and texture is about tone, colour, shapes, lines and the features and detail of the picture. I have also learnt about Leading lines which are lines that your eyes naturally follow, for example, train tracks, and Close up and Depth of field which is an image that is so close that you can see every detail and then only some of the image is in focus and that tends to be where your eyes draw you to first.

From learning these techniques, I am going to put them into even more practise when I do my Bury shoot and my Castlefield shoot. I will use the techniques above to improve my pictures by using all of the techniques even if I only take a few pictures using one technique, it will still show off my skills and will help further me along in the learning process.

After looking back at my images, I feel that Pattern & texture worked best along with Close up & Depth of field because I enjoyed them more and I could take more pictures for those topics compared to Rule of thirds because I felt as though I didn't know what was right and what was wrong so I struggled with the task. However, I feel that leading lines was my strongest topic because they are everywhere. Lines are all around us, we live with them and we see them everyday therefore I found that task easier compared to the others.

Part 2:

In part 2 of my personal response, I am going to focus on a variety of different things such as, close up, urban observations, compositions, leading lines, rule of thirds, textures, depth of field and unusual viewpoints. I'm not sure if I will focus on all of these in more depth but I will go into detail on a few of the above when I know which I like best and feel that I can achieve great things from.

My aim for part 2 is to focus on a topic that I like and can relate best to. I will look at certain artists work and review & refine my work in order to develop this in a personal direction.
