Pattern and Texture

Definition of pattern:  Pattern are elements that are repeated. The repetition of lines, shapes, tones or colour can create interesting images, creating patterns that often enhance the attractiveness of photographs.

Definition of texture:  Texture helps to emphasise the features and details in a photograph. By capturing "texture" of objects being photographed, you can create form.

Annotations:

The purpose of this shoot is to represent the naturally occurring patterns and textures in the environment. This includes line, tone, shape, colour etc. While on the shoot and looking for these things made me aware of all of the pattern and texture around us in the world. People don't realise how much there is until you look.

Some successful elements of the shoot were that I found some really interesting shots and edited them to improve them even more. I did this by using Photoshop to enhance, crop, darken, lighten an image.

Some improvements that need to be made are that I don't think I've got a good range of different pictures so in order to improve this, I will go out and take more pictures of pattern and texture that is completely different to the ones that I have taken.

After reviewing my work of pattern and texture, I noticed that the more pictures I took, the more I understood the difference between the two. I also noticed that I took many images from ground view/level when it came to texture because I felt that in some cases it was the best way to show off the texture.
